The Soul

Before the days have ever witnessed the warmth of light. Before the people learned to smile, the Darkness roamed the earth frightening every living creature in its path. Its demonic laughter swept across the land inviting anyone who dares think they could defeat it. One day a brave Soul accepted the invite and sought out to defeat the evil bringing joy and light to the people of earth. The Soul was to encounter many of The Darkness’s fiends along his journey. Though the adventure ahead looked like a nightmare from hell, The Soul did not need to fret for he was prepared for the sleepless nights that wait for him. The Soul was wielding the sword some say that only gods could have forged, the blade of pure light extending from its pearl clasped handle that looked as if it would melt skin from bones. With his weapon, The Soul would cut and slash his foes all while not shedding a single sweat. Blood from the fallen fiends covered his chiseled body and ground. Countless days and nights went by leading up to the moment they met, The Soul and The Darkness stood still. The Earth was fearful, still, and hushed. With out a second warning The Darkness stepped through the shadows appearing behind The Soul attempting to strike from behind, but The Soul knew better to let down his guard even for a second. The Soul spun around extending his blade out piercing The Darkness' blackened icy heart. The Darkness laughed at what seemed to be a failed attempt unaware of what pain was about to be unleashed on him. Within seconds the sword emitted a bight light sending The Darkness into another dimension of torment. The Darkness cried in agony sending out a scream of pain across the land. With The Darkness weak and defenseless The Soul cut and slashed the body and with a single stab into the Darkness' head, an explosion of light engulfed the Earth giving hope and joy to every living thing that lived on it. Parties took place across the land as people chanted The Souls name and hailed him a new god. To this day his legacy still remains, though with different names, The Soul will always go by one name to many. Wal-Mart.
